Throughout history, calligraphy has been used as a form of art and ornament. This is especially true in the Middle East where Arabic script was used to embellish vessels, jewelry, and architectural forms. Most commonly used were words invoking praise as well as good wishes to the owner. Silsal Ceramics has pursued this artistic form of expression, often re-interpreting it in its own style.
